Press Release - February 2014
OEDA New Website
The Outboard Engine Distributors Association (OEDA) which represents the vast majority of all outboard engines sold in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific is pleased to announce the launch of its new updated and modernised web site.
Lindsay Grenfell the Executive Officer, stated the new site is easy navigable and provides a wealth of information regarding outboard engines sold in Australia. Whether you are after emission outputs from the latest outboards to see how remarkably efficient they have become, what the Industry is doing to further reduce emissions through its VELS labelling scheme, the dangers of Ethanol fuel or what the Industry thinks and has had to say on a range of topics through its press releases: it is all in the new site.
Recently some Local Councils (particularly in Queensland) are opening up more freshwater fishing locations for anglers to use their low emission outboard engines on dams and reservoirs. The new site provides an explanation of the star rating system and technical detail regarding how emissions are calculated and the classification for each star rated engine.
OEDA is working closely with the federal government on the introduction of emission regulations including their complex implementation and timing OEDA has also worked with the Great Barrier Reef Authority on the introduction of a brochure explaining the emissions of various outboard engines.
